MyCup o’Joe Week 22 MyCup o’Joe Week 22

As always, Joe Quesada answers fans’ questions about the current events in Marvel Comics. Usually (not always) Joe Quesada’s answers are some thing along the lines of “Wait and find out…..”

Anyways, a couple of fans asked some questions that have to do with or of Emma Frost, and here, I am reporting it to my loyal EmmaFrostFiles readers. ;)

I gotta admit I’m excited for this “Illuminaughty” like everyone else seems to be, and I can’t wait to see what Emma has up her sleeve this time! …As long as Brubaker isn’t writing it…or Fraction.

Hey, Joe!

Congrats on winning the softball game!

My question is about the picture that was shown a little while back that depicted an “Evil Illuminati.” I see Doom, Namor, Emma Frost, Loki, and The Hood. But who’s in the middle? Can you give us a name, or is it one of those “wait and see” things?

JQ: Steven, while I can neither confirm nor deny rumors and fuzzy Internet photographs, quite simply, it’s Stephen Colbert.

And as we already know…

Are there any plans to return Cable to the present and put him back on an X-team? He seems kind of irrelevant right now, despite having the mutant messiah baby, because he’s off in an alternate future and completely disconnected from everything. Personally, I’d like to see him come back and take his X-Force team back from that overexposed runt, Wolverine!

JQ: Jack, Jack, Jack, how are you?

Cable is “disconnected from everything?” If you read “Messiah CompleX,” then you’ll remember: Cable has the future of the mutant race strapped to his chest in the form of that little red-headed girl. And if you read Cable 6 (in stores now), you know that Cyclops has just tapped Beast to find a way to send someone (possibly Wolverine and the X-Force) into the time stream to help Cable on his mission.

Will Cable come back to the present and take back the X-Force from Wolverine? C’mon, you don’t really want to know the ending to the story now, do you? Let’s just say that, yes Cable will meet the X-Force, and yes, something is going to come back—and it’s going to be big.

And Cable is also mentioned in an important conversation between Scott Summers and Emma Frost in Uncanny X-Men 501. So he’s hardly “disconnected!”

I think Bendis is writing the Illuminaughty one-shot, so Ehms is in good hands.

The good Illuminati goes as far back as the first Kree-Skrull War. It’s not hard to imagine that the same goes for Illuminaughty (with the Hood getting an invitation or crashing in, whatever). If Emma has an untold history with Doom and the others then her being called for a secret meeting - - and answering that call as a heroine - - well, it should be interesting.

I had the impression this Illuminati would have their first get-together in the one-shot. If they also go back like their counterparts then that would mean that Namor has played on both teams. Well, I guess that’s in character for him :)

If Emma goes bad they won’t only kick her from the team, Cyclops will sick X-Force on her.

    Nah, Emma won’t go bad!

LOL! Cyclops blaming Emma on X-Force? That would be hilarious…

I think Selene would fit well with the Illuminaughty.
