Advance X-Solicits, December 2008 Advance X-Solicits, December 2008

Here we go - Marvel’s X-Men solicits for December 2008. It does not seem like a very exciting month, although I timidly look forward to the Emma vs Storm knockdown in Uncanny X-Men #505. Oddly, there is no mention of Astonishing X-Men.

what in the world, emma, storm with an audience?! What the heck kind of issue is this?? are they putting on a show

by Anthony on September 15th, 2008 at 5:19 PDT

@Anthony - I think it basically means Emma and Storm are going to fight.

by aimeeish on September 15th, 2008 at 7:14 PDT

@aimeeish - What!!?? I thought they are friends now, or are they still rivals?

by Anthony on September 15th, 2008 at 8:56 PDT

@Anthony - Well, they’re on the same team. But they do tend to have rivalry with each other.

by aimeeish on September 15th, 2008 at 9:05 PDT

oh okay, even though i like storm, i hope emma beats the crap out of her, and finally win, even though storm always wins (cheap creators always have to do this heroic stuff for the weaker people.)

by Anthony on September 15th, 2008 at 9:43 PDT

As long as Claremont isn’t writing Storm, Emma has a decent chance of taking her down in a fight (let’s face it, under CC, Storm can take out the Living Frickin’ Tribunal). Though I suspect this will be more of a fiery (windy?) conversation more than anything else.

Jeez I would have thought with the lead time Ellis and Bianci had they’d have been able to go a bit longer without a delay.

Not surprising there’s no Astonishing solicitation considering #27 is now pushed back to October 15. So much for people whining all over the Internet because Uncanny and Astonishing has the same core cast. Seems they did not learn their lesson last time, but fortunately Marvel did. :)

It will be good to see Emma and Storm juke it out. However I agree, it will probably be a heated arguement of some kind.

look what just popped up on Emma’s wikipedia page

“The similarly crystal form of her daughter, Ruby, provides immunity to starvation and aging, indicating that Emma could be immortal while in her diamond form.”

hmm? explain. Who is Ruby? and do we think this theory is plausible?

by diamondhardskin on September 17th, 2008 at 5:13 PDT

Ruby is scott and emmas daughter in the future (i think im just saying what i read on comicvine) with ruby skin and optic blasts from that new x factor series. And who the hell knows what emma could do in her form, from what i hear she is immune to most human needs to living

by Anthony on September 17th, 2008 at 8:30 PDT

Yep. Some people theorized that, having no need to eat (and being immune to thirst), Emma wouldn’t age in her diamond form. Though reverting back would be a problem since she wouldn’t know if she’d age the time she spent as a diamond instantaneously.
