“If Emma Were Pregnant…”

CBR interviewed Peter David, and a fan asked why the X-Men don’t seem interested in the birth of Syrn’s baby. Peter David, current writer of X-Factor, replied:

1) Why don’t the X-Men seem interested in the birth of Siryn’s baby? Do they not know?

Peter David: I have to think at this point that the X-Men do not, in fact, know. Some fences have been mended, yes, but there’s still something of a gap between the two teams, and Siryn, Madrox et al simply have not felt the need to let the X-Men know about it. I mean, let’s face it: if Emma were pregnant, you think Scott would call Jamie and say, “Guess what?”

    Ugh, just the mention of Emma being pregnant makes me irked, that or the idea of her getting married to Scott.

    Seriously, the fact that the Stepfords are her clones/children is something I think of as non-canon.

    Emma Frost being a mother would just be her character in X-Men: The End. “MY BABIES! WHERE ARE MY BABIES!?” (Yes I know, it was a situation that deserved that reaction….didn’t make it any less annoying) Not that there is anything wrong with her having a maternal side, I just find it’d be repetitive and irritating to read.

    I actually think that it would be interesting to see Emma pregnant. Even though she acts cold, you can tell that she genuinely cared for a lot of her past students.

    The deaths of Everette, the Hellions, the New X-Men, and the Genoshan school children obviously had some sort of profound effect on her, and I could totally see her bringing that level of care and emotion to her child.

    That being said, I don’t like the idea of her being married to Scott. Too vanilla for her. I think someone with a little personality like Tony Stark or Luke Cage would be a much better fit for Emma.

    Persoanlly, I feel that if Emma were pregnant, Scott is the only one for her. I love them together and can’t imagine anyone being better for her than Scott(at least in his current incarnation).

    I don’t want her married to him though. I’m not sure if they’ll ever be ready for that step.

    Aklso, don’t forget that if they do get pregnant, Ruby would be on the way;-)

    Wow…the thought of it..it makes me feel weird…I mean, Emma wouldn’t be able to fight properly anymore, incase the baby gets damaged. I consider the Stepford’s to be her children instead of a new one.
    And her being married to Scott is NOT a good sign. Sure, fiancee’s ,maybe, but when Emma is not as cold-hearted, then I think she would settle down.

    i would love for emma to have children and to “she wouldn’t be able 2 fight” comment

    she could still do a lot of damage from cebro @ 6months on

    and just stay in diamond form and if it gets to dangerous GET OUT OF THERE besides do u know how many x-men can heal…or mutants or other allies that the x-men know!

    i gotta say that!! i hate emma frost!! im a huge fan of jean grey!! and also emma frost is soo b*tchy :P dont made things up emma cant be pregnant!! but jean was pregnant to a beautiful girl called rachel. stupid emma :P and i made up my e-mail adress :P so dont mail 2 me
