Correction: Frost will appear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Correction: Frost will appear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Added December 20, 2008 by EmmaFrostFiles

Controversy arose regarding the entry Emma Frost will NOT appear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and a reader brought up very interesting and valid points.

Initially, I believed that Emma Frost would definitely not appear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine because she wasn’t mentioned anywhere in official material (see original post).

I waited at least 4-5 months before I made the entry that Emma wouldn’t appear in the movie. But to my own embarrassment, I missed an article written by Marvel.com: Watch the Debut X-Men Origins: Wolverine Trailer. Emma Frost is mentioned in the article:

Can you spot Deadpool? How about Emma Frost? What do you think of Gambit? Who wins in a fight: Wolverine or a helicopter? (Our bet’s on the ol’ Canucklehead, ‘natch.)

The above article definitely refutes the entire post I made about Emma in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I did not intend to post misleading information, and I am sorry that I have misinformed everyone.

Controversy such as this is why I allow visitors to post comments – so that they can speak their own opinions, point out mistakes, and generally make contributions to the site. Thanks to everyone who has spoken out and pointed out my mistakes. Accuracy and facts are extremely important and vital to a resource site. :)

…Now, let’s continue and complain about what the hell is Emma Frost, her highness, doing in a Wolverine movie?

  1. Oh sorry if i ruined your beliefs that it is her, but i really wouldnt worry about it, because this could give emma many more opening doors through getting a bigger role in the next X men Film, or the new X men first class movie for bloody sakes? But still in my opinion im happy shes making a big screen appearance but no one could possibly act like her on the spot

I read the NOT Emma Frost article and thought it was joke… as in the sense that yes she was in the movie, but no we are not happy about it.

She is clearly in the movie. But she’ll be in the movie like lots of mutants are in the X-movies. And her one scene has probably already been shown in the trailer. It lets us Emma fanboys geek out (or I guess complain) about it, but if they still wanted her to have an active role in a later movie they could because they could easily have no connection.

Why is she in the movie? Simple, Emma has become one of the most popular female comic character. She has become a staple in the X-Universe and with Dark Reign she will hopefully advance into the Marvel Universe at large. Any exposure she can get it a good thing. It makes her more well known to the general public, non fanboys, etc. I feel like this is the case of when people like indie music or movies but once they get popular don’t like them anymore. I’ve never had that problem. I’m glad something I liked first has grown in popularity. More exposure. My non comic loving friends hear me rant at times about comics and they are excited to see her in Wolverine and the X-Men and Wolverine. I think its a good thing, but I can’t wait to see her in a decent role in a decent movie.

She’s going to wear red pants…like seriously.

No, I think she’s a Weapon X captive, and is forced to wear red? Anyway, I think she changes her clothes (thank god) and helps Wolverine. No proof, but im hoping she isn’t as snobby as she is in the comics.

She needs to be Grant Morrison snobby it’s how she made it the first time.

@Mikey – Where did you get this info, well cuz it sounds pretty interesting, though with this movie so far idk wat to believe

The only hesitation I have on Emma appearing in this film is that it could potentially keep her from appearing in any future X-films. Origins is supposed to take place in Wolverine’s past, which would mean Emma would be a pretty old woman in any film taking place after X-Men 3.

I’ll wait and see how the movie turns out. It could be X3 bad or X2 awesome. Bring on May 09.

The eventually movie switches to the present.

So hi, I check this website weekly but never post, so here it is. I’m an Emma Fanatic, and just had to have my say.

I don’t think that’s Emma, only because imdb.com has that actress listed as Silver Fox. Also, wikipedia, her own website, and here’s a blog interview with her in which she says she’s playing Silver Fox: http://blogs.coventrytelegraph.net/thegeekfiles/2008/09/actress-lynn-collins-on-her-ro.html

I’m just confused though, because Marvel.com said it was Emma. While I’d LOVE to see Emma on the film screen, I don’t think she has any place in a Wolverine origins film.

I suppose we’ll find out in May…anyway, nice to finally say hello to everyone, maybe I’ll post here more often =)

Hi Daniaka! Yeah, I’ve checked IMDB a few times too, and nothing concrete ever came up – - but Marvel did say that Ehms was appearing and the lady above is the closest we’ve got to our White Queen, so you know, whatever.

If ever they do plan a middle-aged Emma, I will just die if they don’t find a way to get Michelle Pfeiffer into the role.

Daniaka and Shark …. although IMDB doesnt show Emma Frost as a character it was confirmed by Hugh Jackman @ comic con san diego that Emma Frost is indeed in the movie. Also that actress listed as Silver Fox is not the blond shown turning into Diamond if you watch the trailer closely u can see the brunette Silver Fox throughout the trailer and behind the girl turning into Diamond deflecting bullets. and Emma is wearing those awful red pants because that is what the captives are all wearing u can see in the trailer where Wolvie is running setting people free that they are all wearing those red clothes. endnote: even if Emma is only in that scene it looks amazing and i’d be happy at that and only that. the less chance they have to screw Emma up the better

@Daniaka – Hello! It’s always good to hear I’ve got some regulars visiting the site.

As what others have stated, Silver Fox isn’t the blonde; she’s the redhead/brunette-head…I cannot remember which one.

Unfortunately, the blonde lady who turns into diamond is probably Emma. :(

by aimeeish on December 23rd, 2008 at 4:17 pm

Let’s not rule out any number of other blonde women in the X-verse that can change appearance or give off light/force field effects. I know Marvel made the comment about Emma, but what about Husk, Mystique, Belladonna, Chandra, both Magicks, Shard, Boomer, Skids, one of the Lady Masterminds, and Birdy (most likely character if the effect can be explained)? We have no real idea where in the timeline that scene appears, it could very well be set at any point. Can’t wait for May!
