Dark X-Men: The BeginningCBR interviewed Nick Lowe, and he answered fans’ questions about the X-Men. Meanwhile, a preview cover of “Dark X-Men: The Beginning” was added to the interview.

Can you clear up the confusion around the “Dark X-Men” teaser and where we are going to see it?

Nick Lowe: Well, I can but I won’t. That’s the whole point of teasers – to tease you with the possibilities. But I’ll tell you this, when you see the July solicits, it will be a lot clearer.

How are the Dark Avengers going to deal with the superior numbers of Cyclops’ mutant army?

I don’t think Norman and the Dark Avengers are that worried about the numbers of the showdown. Think about it: who on the X-Men can match the Sentry? Or Ares? Colossus is strong, but he’s not that strong. Round out the Dark Avengers with Marvel Boy, Ms. Marvel (Moonstone) and the rest, and I’m more worried about what Scott is going to do.

You’ve been talking a lot about how “Uncanny” has a rotating/ensemble cast, but so far, everything we’ve seen is focused on Cyclops, Emma Frost and Beast. When will we finally see this rotating cast rotate?

I think you’re oversimplifying a bit here, Giselle. Sure, Cyclops and Emma are central. But Angel/Archangel has been big. Colossus has been huge. Pixie’s been a big part. Be happy that Matt has ignored my pleas for a whole storyline centered around just Kitty inside the bullet. “Day 84: Still in the damn bullet.” Imagine that for four issues.

    that sure look like dagger and cloack ( now at least ) but i wonder if this is gonna be a new x team and what assembled them..is that a norman osborn thing or just the opposite..the reaction to something he did?? and i tottaly desagree with what they said about the x men not being able to overthrown some of the dark avengers..i think Emma could easily twist taht already twisted mynd of the sentry..and thats just for starters…

    The Dark X-men… Guardian ?, Emma Frost, Angel, Namor, Wolverine, Cloack and Dagger.
    Why Wolverine? He’s in every single team of Marvel, so why not?
    Why Dagger? It makes more sense to me, and Lady Mastermind is in the sisterhood.
    Why Cloack? He’s with Dagger and I don’t think that Exodus will be happy to stay in the same team with Emma, remember Messiah Complex?
    I’m with Luciano, the x-men can take down the Dark Avengers, especially if we think that every single member of that group is a twisted mind, so Emma can defeat them, oh yes she can!

    If you see the picture you will see that is Daken not Wolverine. Can you see the 2 claws and tatoos?

    It’s Cloak, Dodson must have messed up on the last cover cause that looked nothing like Cloak who’s African American.. That stripped cloak is definitely Cloak’s though.

    this is probably Emma´s own secret x force .. now for the reason why they were assembled, i can only assume that its a strike against norman osborn..take the presence of narmor for example… he had a deal with Emma, and this deal included osborn going after the mutant race..guess that just about to happen in x men/ dark avengers.

    And if you look at the blonde woman and her costume, she’s definately Dagger, she has a cross in the chest, just like Dagger look:

    I’m not sure about Guardian, but I don’t remember another hero with a red/white suit like that, and yes, probably is her x-force team, and she has the team in case of Osborn gone insane (wich I know someday will happen) and attack the mutants.

    I edited the post. Thanks for the clarification, guys. It puzzled me too, why Lady Mastermind and Exodus were there.

    Also, I thought Guardian could have been Captain Britain…but that wouldn’t make sense. Still not sure on Guardian.

    i dunno if u guys have seen it..but check cbr for some news on the dark x men…apparently its got ALL to do with osborn, but not in the way we were speculatting..though i didnt get the ” three teams” thing..

    Why does everyone jump to thinking Angel?
    My first thoughts were Mimic, isn’t there a big M on his chest in the Dodson cover?
