“Emma Frost’s betrayal comes home to roost.” It pisses me off every time I hear them say Emma ‘betrayed’.
The description of “The Confession” book is steadily taking me from a simmer to a rolling boil. If they break these two up over this Dark Reign story they can say goodbye to this reader for a good long while. I don’t want Emma to be a two dimensional character again, where the only time we see her crack is when she’s suffering from a death that she blames herself for. That’s depressing. I would like to see her happy from time to time. Why take away the one person that even she admits is the only one her soft side it for?
If someone could tell me something to bring me off this ledge I’d sure love to hear it. lol. Right now the only thing I’m thinking of is the head of Fraction and the story of the Sword of Damocles.
@FoxxFireArt –
I don’t think you need to worry too much about Emma, there will be some changes coming but hardly bad ones (might depend on your perspective of course) since Fraction is writing it and he seems to be really big fan.
Check out this podcast from about 24:00 for an example of it.
(Warning, might be a little bit embarrassing :)

@NB –
I’ve never, personally, been one for podcasts. I’ve just never downloaded one and I couldn’t seem to find a text transcript of the conversation. I appreciate the thought though.
Now you see, there’s the rub. It’s the use of the term “depends on your perspective” that gets to me. You go on the Marvel boards and there are people, who call themselves Emma fans, that would be just happy to see her return to her villainous, ice queen days. I’m frustrated by the whole two steps forward, three steps back approach writers keep using on Emma.
I’d love to see Paul Cornell have a shot at the books. I was encouraged by his quote that can be found on this site.
@FoxxFireArt –
Well, Fraction is mostly a fan of Morrison’s Emma it seems so he’ll hardly attempt to return her to her original villain status quo.
And after hearing him wax lyrical (lol) about her in the podcast I think he’d as soon cut off his left arm as make her look “bad” in any way. He might always put her through bad times though, you mostly hurt the ones you love after all.
I love Frost’s involvement with the Cabal and the only thing I’m frettng is that this crossover is gonna’ put an end to that.
Something tells me that the writers are gonna make the entire X-Men turn on her.
