This issue concludes the Sisterhood storyline in the same tone Fraction’s run has carried pretty much since he landed on the book next to Ed Brubaker. Fractured enough to keep tabs on rotating and well-balanced cast, kinetic when the fighting starts, and disarmingly poignant when it needs to be. Fraction writes the X-Men like human beings first and foremost. You might be forgiven for forgetting that once upon a time Scott Summers was actually married to Madelyne Pryor and that this isn’t merely a shell for a malevolent enemy. At the close of this story, though, Fraction reminds us, as Cyclops takes a moment to deal with this sudden exhumation of two failed relationships. Read More

The Sisterhood arc that’s ripped through Uncanny X-Men is finished in issue #511, and I can’t say I’ll be sad to see it depart from these pages. Matt Fraction’s run on the book has been peppered with moments of the X-Men acting like a prototypical superhero team (the Empath beatdown, Colossus and Emma’s mob jaunt), and it seems like this moment in particular lasted a bit too long.

Review 1:Overall Uncanny X-Men #511 is a mediocre issue with a generic plot, boring looking action scenes, and a LOT of female characters that all have virtually identical physiques and facial features. From such a high-profile creative team and with superhero characters with such potential, this is a pretty disappointing result.
Review 2:This issue of Uncanny X-Men sees Matt Fraction wrap up his Madelyne Pryor storyline (for the time being, anyway), offering a couple of decent fight sequences and… not much else. Read More

Overall, this arc was crappy for these reasons: Land, duh, but also the first two issues were too slow and spent of pointless crap. The fight issue wasn’t a fight issue, it was a scene of the X-Men trapped and then getting un-trapped and Emma, Wolverine, the Cuckoos, and Pixie fighting. That’s it! No real fight. And this conclusion feels completely rushed, especially for an arc so fiercely promoted, and it leaves me saying, “That’s it?” For more of my thoughts Click here.

In Summary: Not necessarily a bad issue and it is a relief to see the conclusion of this arc.

Sometimes you get the feeling that some reviewers are on Marvel’s payroll.
@FoxxFireArt – Ohhhh definitely. I swear some of the ass-kissing of Fraction is absolutely ridiculous.
The arc was pointless for Psylocke. She is the same as she was before. Still Asian and still a telekinetic. They really should have just made Psylocke leave the Exiles and ask to join the X-Men. Nice to see Emma beating on Lady Mastermind again even after Emma already got her revenge last issue. I do wish that Emma was beat up a little. And as usual Karma was ignored from the issue. You see her striking poses but no fighting. I mean even in the issue they mention that she is often ignored. At least Domino and Northstar got fighting scenes. I really hated how Beast invades Scott and Emma’s privacy by sitting on their bed when both are half-naked. I mean personal space. Couldn’t he just have said his opinions in the morning.
