SDCC: Emma Frost To Appear in X-Men Noir Sequel

After X-Men Noir’s initial success, Marvel will write a sequel to the series called “Mark of Cain,” which hits stands this December. Emma Frost plays a warden of a controversial psychiatric prison in Genosha Bay:

Mark of CainIGN Comics: Will there be another familiar X-villain serving as the antagonist this time?

Van Lente: Emma Frost is the warden of a controversial prison for the world’s worst sociopaths in Genosha Bay, the island where Cain is found murdered. In order to solve the mystery, Angel has to break into a place that is designed to keep people from getting out of. And Ms. Frost is something of a taskmistress, with all those white leather outfits…

IGN Comics: The first story had a small religious element in the form of Holloway’s Angel persona and Trask’s Nimrod stories. Does the subtitle “Mark of Cain” imply a stronger religious element this time around? What exactly does the subtitle mean in the context of this story?

Van Lente: “Mark of Cain” has a number of different meanings. There’s the obvious allusion to Cain Marko himself, as well as to relationships between brothers, which we explore through Marko and Xavier, as well as Angel and his own slain twin brother, whose ghost haunts him from the original XMN still.

There’s also a more literal meaning: To quickly identify her maximum-security inmates from the rest of a prison’s population, Emma Frost has the letter “M” tattooed over their eyes in a manner that should look familiar to long-time X-Fans.

And CBR also interviewed Fred Van Lente on the “Mark of Cain”:

How much time has passed between the conclusion of the first series and the beginning of the sequel?

[...]

And all the clues seem to lead to Marko’s half-brother, Charles Xavier, who is working in the prison of Genosha Bay, run by icy taskmistress Emma Frost. He seems to be training an All-New, All-Different team of ‘X’ Men.

I use the latest FireFox browser. That will be alright, correct?

Yes! That will be fine. As long as it isn’t Internet Explorer 6 or older, everything will work out. IE6 is a horrible web browser that’s like 10 years old and people still use it.
