From Astonishing X-Men #31Abigail Brand, director of S.W.O.R.D., has been in some sticky situations, and she isn’t the type who asks for help to get out of them. But when you’re careening towards Earth in the cockpit of a damaged spaceship after being attacked on an exploding asteroid 7.5 million miles from Earth…it’s time to call the X-Men. They might not have much of a plan, or much of a chance, but that’s certainly never stopped them before. Superstar artist Phil Jimenez joins writer Warren Ellis for the second arc of the mind-bending ongoing series!

  1. I like Astonishing Xmen, to me this comic has the most acceptable rendition of Emma, I also like the team, and now that Phil Jimenez joined, I’m really happy.
In my personal opinion Phil is one of the best artist that have been involved with the xmen, and I love his Emma and her new hair cut that resembles the fantastic hair of miss Farrah Fawcett (ahh we miss you Farrah…)

By the way, glad to see that at least in this series she still is mainly a psychic.

Phil is awesome but for some reason I feel like his work looks better just in pencils, no color no ink lol. Just at its raw form.

Praise the Lord, no more tranny zombies. Emma looks regal and Ororo looks like she can walk through an alley without her costume snagging on everything.

This might possibly be set before Utopia as they are still in SF here. But I hope not, having a five-issue arc that has “already happened” would not feel right.
