Hi all,
As some of you might have noticed, I haven’t been paying much attention to EFF lately. With my decreasing interest in X-Men comics and my busy real life schedule, I don’t have the energy and time to religiously update the site like I used to.

For lack of better words, the X-Men comics have been sucking lately, and I don’t know what I happened to my dear Emma Frost. They have watered her character down and turned her into someone I’m not familiar with anymore. The lovely Emma/Scott relationship that I once craved has also been ruined and is not the same anymore. I understand that characters progress in comic books, but the direction that Marvel is taking is utterly preposterous and I will not be putting my money into crappy writing. I wish I liked the current Emma Frost, but I cannot bring myself to like her character anymore. She is nothing but a mopey, insecure girlfriend of Cyclops – this is, unfortunately, what Marvel has turned her into. The Emma Frost I know is classy and independent with amazing dialogue. She knows what she is doing and doesn’t take crap from anyone. See, I can tell when Emma is in-character: she has that subtle twist of dialogue and comes up with fresh ways of doing things. The current Emma Frost is nothing but an in-your-face obnoxious arm candy of Cyclops. Shame on Marvel for ruining such a wonderful character. Marvel saw her potential, flew with it, and hit a brick wall along the way.

As for Cyclops, he can get the award for the biggest jerks ever. Anything that comes out of his mouth annoys me to no ends, and I don’t know what Marvel did to him either. He acts like a bossy child who doesn’t get his own way.

In real life, I am very, very busy with school and work. My senior year is coming to an end, and I can’t let senioritis get to me too much. And since the beginning of the 09-10 school year, I have been working in the journalism field as a paid intern. Life has been pretty eventful for me, and I have new things coming my way in life.

No, I’m not shutting the site down or anything. I’ll still keep it up, and I’ll update it as much as possible. I’m happy to take in suggestions and any volunteers who would like to share Emma news.

Also, I am hoping some of you can tell me the latest comic book issues Emma has been in. I do want to keep track of her appearances, and, hopefully, get a working database up, eventually. And, yes, it will take a while, thanks to my procrastination.

Thanks all, and thanks everyone for making this an active site (according to Google Analytics!). I’m not completely giving up on Emma Frost – maybe in a few years, new writers will come in and will actually shake things up for her!

And for the record, I am a converted Mac user:

  1. I have an Emma Frost blog myself, I can understand how hard it can be sometimes to properly update your site. You have been an inspiration and I hope you will find it in you to write again soon! I also know how you feel – Emma HAS been softened a LOT in the last years and I’m not happy about it. But I love her and, as much as I sometimes want to, I just can’t let go of her) She has her bright moments, though. If you want to revisit old times I suggest X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back, maybe the first issue of Doomwar.
If you need any help with updating your page – I can do it, you can read my blog and see if you want me to or not. http://emmafrostpage.blogspot.com/ I am convinced that your site should stay alive and updated AT LEAST once-twice a week or it will lose it’s readers and sink in the tops of other pages and it would be very-very sad.

If it’s only Uncanny you have a problem with I wouldn’t give up already. The creative team will change sooner or later. If it’s a lack of Whedon (and Morrison) OTOH you might possibly be out of luck.

If it’s only Uncanny you have a problem with I wouldn’t give up already. The creative team will change sooner or later, I don’t think it will take longer than about two years. Maybe the next will be more to your liking. If it’s a lack of Whedon (and Morrison) OTOH you might perhaps be out of luck. Well, nothing lasts forever.

As for comic book issues with Emma. I have a Google spreadsheet that is updated regularly, it contains all of her appearances to date that I’m aware of.

Feel free to download it and include it on the site if you want to.

Tip for some news; Wolverine and the x-men’s cancelled. The only show Emma has been portrayed well and it’s been axed. No Season 2
