My best bet is that she going to the Charles romantic interest (like the ultimate version) not Cyckes hence her age and probably will have something to do with Charles/Magneto falling out. If remember correctly in Singer pitch for X3 an older Emma Frost who would have been played by Sigourney Weaver and would have been a foil to Xavier. i think she old too but her age is seems more aligned with the new Charles and Magneto.
