Check out the first photos of Emma Frost in the upcoming X-Men movie. January Jones from “Mad Men” is spotted in white as Emma Frost on the set of “X-Men First Class.”

She plays the ice-queen housewife Betty Draper in Mad Men – but now actress January Jones is taking coolness to a whole new level in the new X-Men movie.

These are the first shots of her as superheroine Emma Frost, a mutant telepath known for her white clothing who can shapeshift into the form of a diamond.

Looking ultra-glamorous in all-white Russian fur hat, Sixties-style knee-length boots, mini swing coat and gloves, January, 32, was filming in the Buckinghamshire countryside for prequel X-Men: First Class.

    @bruce: Not really. I think the most important is to focus on her personality (meaning: not Fraction’s Emma). Don’t worry though, I’m pretty sure she won’t wear that costume the whole movie.

    I think this costume *could* end up working well, it just depends on the rest of the movie whether it fits in or not. Some other variants would not hurt though.

    Showing too much flesh in a live-action movie OTOH just ends up looking cheap a vast majority of the time. It’s much different in the comics where most characters, even clothed ones (in body-paint), looks nude and idealized. That look just does not work for real people.

    So screen presence and acting ability becomes the key priority.

    Considering the setting, her original White Queen garb as her official costume wouldn’t be too surprising.

    Considering the plotline of this and Fox’s other X failures. I’m just not looking forward to this at all. I wish Doutzen Kroes was an actress. I think she would have made a fabulous White Queen.
