Where She Showed Up: ASTONISHING X-MEN, "X-Men: Messiah Complex"
Why She Makes the List: The lovely Emma Frost has come a long way since her days as the devious White Queen of the Hellfire Club and proved herself an asset to the X-Men many times over in 2007. In addition to giving her lover, Cyclops, the emotional support he needed to lead the X-Men and providing the New X-Men with plenty of "tough love," Emma put her own wellbeing on the line time and again, braving the uncharted Breakworld with the Astonishing team and pitting her psychic powers against no less than Mr. Sinister during "Messiah CompleX."
Biggest Move of the Year: Emma maintains a cool exterior around the students of the Xavier Institute, acting as if she doesn't care for or openly disdains them, but when the deadly Kimura threatened X-23, the headmistress exposed her den mother side, erasing the assassin's sole happy memory and vowing to do worse if she ever came after the children under her protection again.

The Wizard Entertainment Magazine has supplied readers with information on the future of Uncanny X-Men:
Uncanny X-men - "In a series of 5 stand-alone issues starting with February's Uncanny X-men #495, Brubaker and artist Mike Choi launch "X-men Divided" which delves into the lives of the core X-men in the wake of MC." I'll summarize the rest. Theres also talk in there about One issue being Scott and Emma on vacation in the Savage Land and Logan, Colossus, and Nightcrawler taking a trip to Europe. The team will then reform in UXM #500.

Emma Frost is mentioned in CBR's X-Position Week 31 here. Also included is a preview of X-Men #206 which hits stands this week.
If the X-Men could not control their students, then could Xavier try to lead them (once he gets away from his own pity-party)?”
YOST: Xavier suggested that to Surge, Hellion and Prodigy, but it didn’t go over particularly well. But after Surge’s bloody epiphany, who knows?
KYLE: Our kids were built by Emma and Cyclops, not Xavier. I think they’d have a tough time listening to words of peace and control when they’ve had to fight so hard just to survive. I hope they don’t listen to him; I think they’re better off without him.

CBR has provided us with X-Position Week 29 which features an interview with Nick Lowe, as well as a few preview pages for X-Factor #26. Highlighted are mentions of Emma Frost:
Next, Andre 4000 is back and feels like reminiscing. "In the most recent issue of 'Uncanny,' Scott was taking a moment and looking at a locket that contained a picture of him with Jean. I thought this was fairly strange timing, especially since he keeps reiterating to Emma that she is the one for him now. Was he looking at the locket because Cable's presence reminded him of her? Or are we having a moment of foreshadowing?"
Hey Andre! He was sorting through some of his belongings that were strewn about in the destruction of the mansion. We wanted it to bring a sense of history to the scene. Ain't it cute, though?
And speaking of Cyclops, Chemicalx was curious about the X-Men's leadership -- both past and present. "Storm has led the X-Men almost as much as Scott, but very little has been shown of her during 'Messiah CompleX' (aside from last issue). Are there any plans for her coming up after MC? Also, will we get any reactions from her on what's occurred with the X-Men since she was the most vocal about Scott and Emma's leadership."
Storm factors into our post-"Messiah CompleX" plans in a big way, Chemicalx. You'll see her moving and shaking! And her criticism hasn't been forgotten.

CBR has provided X-Position Week 28 in an interview with X-Men writer Mike Carey:
Sounds like Renaldo will be doing his happy dance. Dustar, however, had a question about a "little" player in the X-Universe in regards to a specific event from issue #205. "What was it about Pixie's scream that alerted Emma? Why wasn't Emma alerted when Julien was sliced n' diced? How does that work exactly?"
I don't think we ever spell this out explicitly, but here's my explanation and it's why I played it the way I did. Psi-shield technology is pretty widely known about and available in the X-verse. It makes sense that the Purifiers would shield their bases against telepathic mutants -- and probably their key personnel, too. But when Pixie teleports away from the catacombs, she comes out from under that umbrella and Emma "hears" her scream because of the emotional intensity and the psychic attunement she already has for the students.
Another reader -- "Magneto," no less -- was rubbed the wrong way by a current event as well, and is seeking some clarification. "Exodus seemed so weak in 'Uncanny' #205. Nightcrawler got rid of him easy. Shouldn't someone as powerful as Exodus be more of a challenge?"
It was meant to be a take-out play, removing him from the battle before he had a chance to bring his powers to bear. Yeah, you're right. Exodus is one of the mutants Sinister had in mind when he said that some of his team could take out the X-Men single-handed. But remember that Kurt is psi-shielded by Emma, so Exodus's first instinct -- to fry his brains inside his skull -- wouldn't work. By the time he starts to go for Plan B, he's miles away.
